Dream Cafe & Grille

Title

Dream Cafe & Grille

Subject

Music entrepreneur Howard Bailey's Southside restaurant
748 W. 61st St.

Description

Dream Cafe and Grille opened in 2015 and closed just a year and a half later, but it was a welcome addition to the Englewood neighborhood. Managed by DJ Duane Powell, the space was known for its outreach and community engagement to neighborhood schools as well as its healthy, fresh menu and its cheese cakes. Bailey says that Dream Cafe was born out of necessity because the neighborhood has few to no options for people to sit down and eat something that isn't fried.
